Howie Mandel made light of Calvin Harris’ breakup with Taylor Swift during a formal introduction at the Caesar’s Palace 50th anniversary gala in Las Vegas this weekend.
As Harris was to be presented with the Future Icon, Mandel joked by saying: “That’s a nice suit. Who’s your tailor? See what I did?”
Harris knew it was all in good fun, replying: “You got that prepared, you had that one ready.”
The two split earlier this year and have consistently made headlines due to Swift’s ability to quickly move on to a new partner – this time being Tom Hiddleston.
Although the breakup was initially on friendly terms, Harris then accused the 26-year-old singer of trying to tear him down.
The DJ said via Twitter: “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.”
As well as: “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”
“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”
Swift’s representative even confirmed that she had penned his song, This is What You Came For, adding: “Taylor Swift wrote ‘This Is What You Came For‘ under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.”
Harris enlisted Rihanna to record the vocals as he and Swift feared their ongoing relationship would overshadow the impact of said track.
