Britney Spears says she’s never officially met Taylor Swift and, should she be stuck in a long haul flight, would rather spend the time alongside Katy Perry as a result. The 34-year-old pop star did admit, however, that she has been briefly around her in the past.
Regarding a “long-flight” question, Spears told KIIS radio: “I don’t know! I don’t know, that’s hard. They’re both so cool, I don’t know. I’ve briefly met Katy Perry at the ‘Smurfs‘ movie premiere. Maybe because I’ve met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I’ve never met her before.”
Her only interaction with Swift involved posing for a photograph at the MTV Video Music Awards back in 2008.
Meanwhile, Spears is also taking the time to promote her upcoming album by teasing it “explores some new things.” The project’s first single, Make Me, debuted at number 17 on the US Billboard in July.
The mother of two recently revealed during a fan Q&A session: “I’ll just say this … We really explored some new things.”
The latest single features rapper G-Easy, leading the singer to praise him for his contribution.
“He’s such an amazing talent. It was fun! His rap really took the song to a new level,” Britney said.
The artist also revealed that the new album will be heavily based on female empowerment, adding: “There’s lots of female empowerment” during the Q&A session.
The new album is expected to hit shelves toward the end of the year.
