Taylor Swift gives Thomas Rhett music advice

26-year-old country singer Thomas Rhett revealed that Taylor Swift gave him “the best music advice” and is deeply grateful for her words. The Bad Blood hitmaker told Rhett to be fearless in the often-overwhelming music industry.

Regarding his experience with the star, Rhett told Bang Showbiz: “Me and Taylor actually grew up in the same town and knew a lot of the same people so when I first met Taylor so we sort of had that in common.

And you know, every time me and my wife have been around Taylor she has been nothing but encouraging and given me honestly the best music advice you could ask for.”

Rhett recognizes Swift’s fearless attitude very well, as she has been in an ongoing feud with Kanye West over his recent Famous track. However, the star says he has nothing but respect and praise for her.

He also revealed that Swift has opened his eyes to new things and experiences, adding: “She just is always so positive about being your own person and obviously her music portrays that. Being your own person, not being afraid to put out music that is different.”

Meanwhile, the Die a Happy Man singer said he was surprised to learn that Swift refuses to let companies stream her music free of charge. She had previously written an open letter to Apple Music’s CEO explaining her opinion on the matter.

He said: “She [Taylor] is able to take flack when you’re trying to take action against different sounding music, which is what we’re doing right now.”

Rhett is set to go on tour later this year.
