Foxconn to initiate Apple iPhone trade-in program in China

Apple Inc is apparently going to start a trade-in program in China for the customers to return their old iPhones and obtain a discount or Apple credits that can be used on other products. The trade-in program will allow the China-based users to return their existing iPhone and get the latest iPhone 6 or 6 Plus by adding few more bucks to it.

Cupertino giant is generating a huge profit from the China market and believes that the in next few months the country will leave US behind in terms of sales. Apple Inc has already started opening new stores in China, which will help the company sell even more of their products.

However, in the trade-in program, Foxconn is going to buy these iPhones and will sell them directly on the e-commerce sites. Apple Inc will not have any ownership in this whole scenario of refurbishing the older iPhones and selling them on the retail websites. Reports suggest that the leading Apple Inc manufacturer, Foxconn, is also in talks to sell these iPhones directly in the retail stores of the Apple Inc.

Trading is a common phenomenon in the US, however, is still on the rise in the Asian countries. Apparently, China is first in Asia to have this trade-in features from the Apple Inc. Almost every wireless carrier in the US, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, offer trade-in programs to replace the older iPhone with a newer one.

Apple is also expected to start accepting the smartphones from other companies. Cupertino giant has always kept the Android as a major rival, and by accepting Android smartphones for an iPhone will benefit the company in some areas.

None of the companies, Apple and Foxconn, has shed a word about the upcoming plans.
