Samsung and T-Mobile Tease the Galaxy S6: Official Announcement set for March 1

Samsung is preparing to launch the next big thing, the Galaxy S6. While the launch date isn’t here yet, T-Mobile is already allowing customers to sign up. The carriers’ website confirms the Galaxy S6 is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to see what it brings to the table.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (PINX: SSNLF) in the meanwhile revealed the teaser image on its Instagram page and expected the comment section went wild as fans go crazy over the upcoming handset. The company used #TheNextGalaxy hashtag, along with a short video that should confirm the device will have a metal exterior.

Fans have been asking Samsung for years to drop the plastic and release a high-end Galaxy smartphone with a metal design, now it appears the Korean giant is finally listening, and it only took a drop in profits and increased competition from Apple and Chinese giant, Xiaomi.

Earlier this month, Samsung sent out invitations to the press to attend is Samsung Unpacked event. This is where the company is expected to highlight the Galaxy S6 among other devices.

When it comes down to the specifications of the handset, rumors claim it could come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD 2560 x 1440 display and a super-fast 64-bit quad core processor with up to eight cores. Apple beat Samsung to the punch with the first smartphone with a 64-bit processor, but the whole thing didn’t make sense since the iPhone 6 doesn’t come with 3 or more GBs of RAM.

We’re really excited to see what comes from the reveal on March 1. From what we’ve seen of Samsung’s Unpacked events in the past, the whole thing is a bore due to the company’s inability to get the crowd excited. However, as long as the Galaxy S6 is a great phone, it doesn’t matter much how Samsung executives deliver on their speeches.
