New England and parts of New York to face another Snowstorm with no-signs of relief soon

Parts of New England have been completely buried with snow, as a result of a three day long continuous snow-storm, which is being anticipated to die out by Thursday. Apart from New England, places such as Upstate New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are all experiencing the heavy snow fall.

However, this is the third major snowstorm to have occurred in New England within a span of 2 weeks. In a response to these storms, residents of such areas have started to stock their residences with resources as there are decent chances that this storm might even outlive Thursday.

Moreover, warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service, for areas such as New York, the western Catskills. It can also be confirmed that Government Officials have also announced that schools and municipal offices must remain closed for the time being. As incidents of accidents rise during these times, drivers were strictly advised to stay off the slick roads during these times.

Up to 24 inches of snow have been recorded in some areas of Boston. Moreover, the weather service has also disclosed that almost 14 inches of snow in Norwell was recorded at 5 a.m. Monday. Around 11 inches of snow has been recorded in places such as Fitchburg, Leominster, Lunenburg and Ashby in north-central Massachusetts. Around 8 inches of snow had been recorded in Logan Boston Airport.

Governor Charlie Baker has formally requested firms to allow their workmen to remain in their houses. The Mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh appeared frustrated when asked about the snowstorms.

“I’m frustrated. The last thing I want to be talking about is another 24 inches of snow. I want to move on to something else”.

“It’s unprecedented. … Maybe up in Alaska or Buffalo, they have this amount of snow and they’re used to it.” During this period, almost 1,500 flights had been cancelled.
