Robert Downey Jr wins double trophies at People’s Choice Awards

The 41st Annual People’s Choice Awards 2015 completed with stars, fun and more in Los Angeles, California on January 7, 2015, and among the major winners was Robert Downey Jr.

The “Iron Man” star picked up two trophies for ‘favorite movie actor’ and ‘favorite dramatic movie actor’ at the People’s Choice Awards, where the best of music, television and film is awarded.

Also among the winners was the “The Big Bang Theory”, which went on to win the award for ‘favorite TV show’ and ‘favorite network TV’. The sitcom, which is about scientists, also won Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting the award for ‘favorite comedic TV actress’.

Like every year, People’s Choice Awards was a gala affair that happened at the Nokia Theatre, where Anna Faris and Allison Janney from ‘Mom’ fame hosted the awards.

Ellen DeGeneres, who the hosts joked about, won the award for ‘favorite daytime TV host’. Among the winner list is Hunter Hayes, who went on get the trophy for ‘favorite male country artist’.

Matt Bomer won the award for ‘favorite cable TV actor’, while Chloe Grace Moretz won the trophy for ‘favorite dramatic movie actress’.

Adam Sandler went on to pick the trophy for ‘favorite comedic movie actor’, while Melissa McCarthy won the award in the female category.

“I want to thank the fans that go out and buy movie tickets and allow me to do what I do,” McCarthy said.

For his appreciable work with the Eastern Congo Initiative, Ben Affleck was chosen as the humanitarian of the year.

Among the performances, Lady Antebellum and Iggy Azalea rocked the award.,
