Former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley dies at 77 in California

The dark-haired beauty and former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley dies at the age of 77 on December 9, 2014. A spokesperson of the Mississippi University confirmed the news of death of this renowned celebrity in front of the media.

 

Mary died in her home in Beverly Hills, California on last Tuesday.  She was battling with breast cancer since long and lost the battle lastly on yesterday.

Mary Ann Mobley also worked with Elvis Presley in several movies that had remarkable influence on the audience. She also worked for several documentary films all around the World.

Mary was married to the late television host and actor Gary Collins.

Vivacious Miss Mobley was crowned Miss America in the year of 1959 while she was doing her graduation course in Ole Miss.

After few years from winning the Miss America crown, she started her acting career with Lee Strasberg.

She first fascinated attention of the viewers on the small screen at the time when she performed on a 1963 episode of Aaron Spelling’s Burke’s Law that producers loved to make popular with gorgeous looking women making a hassle over impeccable star Gene Barry.

Apart from being a star of the glam world, Mary Ann Mobley and her husband were humanitarians also. They raised fund and spread awareness for the welfare of the United Cerebral Palsy Association.

Ann Mobley is survived by her two daughters, named Clancy Collins White and Melissa Collins, son named Guy William Collins, a sister Sandra Young along with two grandsons.
