The arrest of Indian actress Mamata Kulkarni for drug peddling has been ruling the headlines of all major newspapers and television channels for the past 48 hours.
The actress who was once a hottest property in the industry was living in Kenya along with her gangster husband Vijay Goswami alias Vicky.
The actress was detained with her husband by the Police, and they were brought to the Port Police Station in Mombasa.
Vijay Goswami was arrested for multifarious charges including drug peddling, but the actress was released after some hours of interrogation.
Credible sources confirmed that Mamata was not arrested by the Police, but she was detained by the Police to know more about the deals of her husband.
Several leading newspapers and channels in India reported that Mamata was arrested, and this new revelation claims that she is not, and all the reports from these big media houses became a fading line drawn in water.
After the interrogation, Mamata went back to her home without any hassles. The Police freed her and they are of the opinion that the actress has no direct involvement in this case.
As per reports, Baktash Akasha, a notorious king pin in the Kenyan drug mafia was also arrested in this case. Credible sources claim that Vijay Goswami was arrested from Akasha’s mansion, ‘Niyali’.
Even though, the actress was freed by the Police, she will still remain under the scanner for sure.
Mamata was once the hottest properties in the industry, and she has acted alongside big names like, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Nana Patekar.
