The LG G3 Prime looks to be as real as it gets, but isn’t going to hit home with those expecting the upper-end variant to take a huge step forward on the hardware front.
There’s been a bit of an update on the LG G3 Prime – the device expected to take the torch from the newly-born G3 flagship. However, it’s now looking like the ultra-powerful G3 Prime we’d come to expect may not in fact be quite as mind-blowing as once suspected…at least speaking in comparative terms, that is.
A new report from Naveris in Korea has made the suggestion that not only will the G3 Prime make its debut in just two days time…July 25…but that is will only be available in its native South Korean market. This would be a pretty huge bummer to say the least, were it not for the fact that the same report states that the upper-end G3 won’t in fact be much different at all from its bog-standard sibling.
In specifics, the G3 Prime – aka the LG G3 Cat 6 – is said to boast a slightly faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core CPU and will, as the name suggests, support faster Category 6 LTE-A. Other than this, it’s the same tale of a QHD display of 5.5-inches, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, 3,000 mAh battery and so on and so forth.
Not that we’re in any way criticizing what the standard G3 has to offer – it’s by far the most stunning Smartphone we’ve seen to date. Still, it might come as a bit of a kick in the pants to those expecting a Prime that took another quantum leap forward.
Best not to set your expectations too high next time!
