Indian IIT-B student bags Rs 2 crore offer from Facebook

Aastha Agarwal (20), a student of IIT-B has bagged a lucrative job offering of Rs 2 crore from social media site Facebook. This is perhaps the highest paid job offer to any undergraduate student in India.

Aastha is a student of fourth year of IIT-B. Her stream is computer science. She completed her internship in the headquarters of Facebook in California in May-June this year. After successful completion of the internship, she was offered pre-placement offering Rs 2 crore.

Miss Agarwal said, “I am very happy and excited with the offer and will join in the Headquarters after completing my 8th semester.”

She is now in Jaipur at her home town with her family to spend the winter vacation. Her family has been celebrating with her in joy after they got this awesome news about their daughter.

“She also said, “I was supposed to develop software. They were satisfied with my work and offered me the job right away. Later, when I consented, they sent me the confirmation letter.”

Aastha confirmed that she will be joining this job on October, 2015 after the completion of her degree from IIT-B.

Aastha holds from a very well established family. Aastha’s father is Ashok Agarwal, who works at Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPNL) in the post of executive engineer. Aastha’s elder sister is a chemical engineer.

In state National Talent Search Examination, Aastha secured seventh position. She also won silver medal in International Junior Science Olympiad.

Previously she was also selected at the Junior Science International Olympiad to represent India in the year 2009.
