Meghan Trainor is looking to date older man because she is reportedly tired of guys with “child-like brains.” The 22-year-old singer is currently seeking someone who is at least 13 years her senior.
Trainor recently confessed to Billboard magazine: “I tried to have a fling with a 29 year old, and I thought that was old. It was very much like a little boy in the brain. So I’m looking [at] 35 and up.”
However, the Dear Future Husband hitmaker is not open to dating just about anyone who comes her way, as her mother wants her to date only movie stars.
She had previously revealed: “I haven’t had a relationship since I was 18. I’m very down for it I just haven’t met the right guy. My mum said, ‘You’ve got to date a movie star or something.'”
The singer also says that many men are intimidated by her busy schedule and overall fame. As a result, she acknowledges that her mother is not the only thing preventing her from exploring more options.
“I find with guys I’ve had crushes on, it’s all over within a week. We’ll put an Instagram picture up together and they’ll get attacked by people online. I say, ‘I’m sorry I didn’t tell them to attack you’. But, also, it’s too hard to see someone romantically as I feel like I’m always working,” she explained.
Trainor does not have any hopes in finding someone in a more traditional manner because she is always protected by guards. She recently added: “I don’t have guys coming up to me in the clubs, but I guess it’s because I’m surrounded by my team.”
