Mariah Carey had a make-up artist on hand to touch her up while she was directing her holiday movie A Christmas Melody. The R&B superstar stepped behind the camera to make the festive film and she would often call over the make-up expert to beautify her even when she wasn’t in front of the camera.
She told HELLO! magazine, “I’m still always going to be a diva in certain ways. I don’t mean that in the bad sense of the word. I mean, like, if there’s a make-up artist there and they don’t mind touching me up while I’m directing…”
Although the 45-year-old singer ensured she looked flawless at all times, she didn’t apply the same high standards to her fashion choices. Mariah, who has 4-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with ex-husband Nick Cannon and is dating billionaire James Packer, would often step on set in slippers for comfort.
Discussing the project, she said, “It’s a new start for me really and I loved it. First of all, directing is less abusive to the feet because you don’t have to wear high-heeled shoes. I put on slippers and it was cool.
“I really loved it because it was Christmas and I start getting into the holiday spirit early anyway.”
