Flying Spaghetti Monster caught in a video footage captured in the deep sea of Angola

A remotely operated vehicle (ROV) by the oil and natural gas workers captured a rare Flying Spaghetti Monster on video beneath the dark bottom of the sea. Researchers at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, England, has identified the creature as a siphonophore.

Now, there is a new meaning of the phrase between ‘the devil and the deep blue sea’. There is so much more being discovered in the deep blue sea, to be precise, on the coast of Angola.

The seabed being scanned by a remote operated vehicle (ROV) by the oil and natural gas workers sent a video they captured of a siphonophore, a sea creature that is touted to be the longest in the aquatic world.

It looks like oodles of spaghetti crisscrossed with a head! Think of a jelly bean that jumps around the deep sea! Its shape also resembles corals. Marine life and religion seem to be entwined with its discovery.

Why is this sea creature in the news?

In the last 48 hours, more than a quarter million people have watched a video of this creature. The discovery of this devil, err, deified creature almost lends credence to the Church of the flying spaghetti monster that is based in Canada.

The church is also referred as Pastafarianism, which is a parody religion. This creature featured in the TV series X-files. The church that is devoted to this sea animal defies it and also has religious connotations.

Its recent discovery makes its worshippers more faithful. It’s like; Christians seeing Jesus Christ walk the earth again. Except that the followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster are delighted to watch their Messiah in the deep seas. Wonder what more the oceans will throw up in the currents?
