‘San Andreas’ opens to negative reviews

“San Andreas” directed by Brad Peyton has been ruling the headlines from the date of its announcement. The film has finally hit the theaters on May 29, 2015 in the midst of huge expectations.

As per earlier reports, the hype and over expectations have reportedly went in vain as negative reviews about the movie have started surfacing all over the internet. Even, ‘New York Daily News’ panned the movie in the initial hours, and they called the movie a colossal disaster.

”San Andreas” is touted to be a action adventure disaster movie, and it stars Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Archie Panjabi and Paul Giamatti in the lead roles.

The movie showcases a cliched story in the backdrop of an earth quake. In the film, we see a helicopter pilot who flies from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save his daughter who is affected by the mishap.

The film offers an unending shower of cliches which we have seen an umpteen numbers of times in other disaster movies. The only saving grace of the flick is the performance of Dwayne Johnson who tried to carry the movie in his own shoulders.

But a weak screenplay blended with shoddy direction spoiled all the mood, and people will surely feel a quake in their brain during the running time of this movie.

Brad Peyton has previously worked together with Dwayne Johnson in ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’, and the film was a colorful entertainer. But this time, they disappoint the audience in a quite miserable manner, and it will soon start reflecting in the collection of the movie after the first weekend.

As per initial reviews coming from leading online portals and news papers, ‘San Andreas’ is such a movie which will impress people who haven’t seen any disaster movies in the past. If you are a lover of this genre, it is better staying away.
