Triplets girls with two conjoined born at the Corpus Christi Medical Center in Texas

Triplet girls Catalina Montserrat, Ximena Jackeline, and Scarlett Juliet were born a day before they clocked their 34 weeks gestation period at the Corpus Christi Medical Center, Bay Area, in Texas. They were born through C-section, and one was born separate while the other are conjoined at the hips.

Hospital authorities say they weigh four pounds and 11 ounces each, and they are quite able to breathe naturally without any respirators. However, the conjoined pair has been taken to the Driscoll Children’s Hospital for specialized treatment until they get separated in a few weeks.

Born on Saturday, the triplets parents Sylvia Hernandez and Raul Torres asked the nation to pray alongside with them for a successful surgery for the babies. They only knew two of their triplets were conjoined when the pregnancy was just three months, and since there was nothing they could do, they prayed and hoped for the best even though doctors said they could die at birth.

Torres said he cried when the doctors said the babies may not survive at birth, and he feared for them. He and his wife didn’t bother about how the babies would look so long they survived, and that has been their prayers until his wife went into labor and the C-section had to be done.

Hernandez was said to have spent nearly two months at the hospital before the babies came, and Torres left his job to take care of her at the hospital because she speaks very little English. He mostly translates for his wife.

Torres said he knew God delivered the babies to them and He’d keep them for the family. In order to raise funds for medical expenses, the family set up a Gofundme.com page where they appeal to people to donate for their babies. They equally have a 3-year-old son that must be taken care of.

People everywhere welcomed the arrival of the babies and wish the best for them, however the parents continue to appeal for funds and ask for more prayers that their babies would live.
