The stage is all but set for the next action-packed UFC event after yester night Dallas event as the best and the fiercest in the fighting arena are set to face off in San Diego, California and later on in Nashville Tennessee. UFC is to make its third visit to San Diego on the 16th of July with the Nashville event set to take place on the August 8, both cards will be Fight Nights and will air on Fox Sports 1.
The Valley View Casino Center is to be the host of the upcoming UFC fights having hosted one of its biggest fights in 2010 when lightweight champion Jon Jones defeated Vladimir Matyushenko. The Nashville show is to take place at the Bridgestone Arena a notable home for NHL’s Nashville Predators. The octagon made its last entry into the music city in 2012 where Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard headlined the show.
A pair of fight cards were on hand this Saturday as Alistair Overeem threw all he hard to sink Roy Nelson in three rounds. He might not have had the killer punch or kick for the day, but Overeem walked with a unanimous-decision having put a masterful game plan highlighted by a barrage of jumping knee strikes on the body of Nelson.
Another fans favorite taking the stage was the battle of titans pitying Sam Stout and Ross Pearson. At first, it seemed Stout was doing everything right gaining the advantage against Person with a series of speedy movement to dart in and out. But Pearson seems to have had other ideas for the day at the Dallas night event.
Known as ‘The Real Deal’ Pearson finally came through interrupting one of Stout’s exchanges with a huge left hook to the jaw that downed his opponent. The win marked Pearson’s a Sunderland native the second win in as many as four fights with one of the losses considered a robbery against Diego Sanchez.
Some of the other big winners were Henry Cejudo against Chris Cariaso and Beneil Darisuh walking sky high on submission against Daron Cruickshank. Germaine de Randamie also defeated Larisa Pacheco on a technical knockout with Joseph Duffy initiating the same fate on Jake Lindsey in round 1.
