With the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S6, many smartphones have begun to wonder what they should do now since the choice of which flagship handset to choose from has gotten more complicated.
It is clear from all indications that Samsung is gunning for success with the launch of both the Galaxy S6 and he Galaxy S6 Edge. However, the big question right now is how does it stack up to the likes of the HTC One M9? Well, it stacks up very well.
The HTC One M9 comes with the latest Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm while the Samsung Galaxy S6 is rocking the company’s own in-house Exynos processor. At the moment, it is too early to tell which processor is faster and which phone performs better than the other, so we’ll have to get back to this at a later date.
Usually, it would have been easy to dismiss a Galaxy smartphone when it comes down to design, but not today. Samsung did an excellent job with the metallic finish of the handset, and the same can be said about HTC and its One M9. However, if we had to choose which we’d go for in terms of looks and quality, the HTC M9 would likely be the top choice.
In one corner, the Galaxy S6 is kicking things with a 16-megapixel camera while the HTC One M9 is cooling things down with its 20-megapixel shooter. However, the numbers don’t tell the whole story here. Many reports have claimed that despite the 20-megapixel camera, the HTC One M9 manages to take ugly pictures.
It is safe to say that with Samsung’s experience, potential users have nothing to worry about with the 16-megapixel camera of the Galaxy S6.
Let’s not hide behind the bush here, for Samsung wins again. The Galaxy S6 comes with an awesome 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED while the HTC One M9 only comes with a 1080p display. Now, we’re not saying 1080p is not good enough; it’s just that what Samsung brings to the table is far better.
At the end of the day, it would appear as if your next flagship smartphone could be the Galaxy S6. It is by far the better phone on paper, so we recommend folks to hold out until the reviews come along.
