Ahmad Givens Aka Real Dies Aged 33 After Battle With Colon Cancer

After a long battle with Cancer, reality TV personality, Ahmad Givens, said his goodbyes dying at the age of 33 according to a statement by his brother Kamal Givens aka Chance. Givens, going by the name ‘Real’ was best known for his stint on VH1’s Real Chance of Love.

Givens is survived by his wife Racquel whom she has always referred to as his favorite nurse and son Mahdi. Givens first appeared in Real Chance of Love in 2008-2009 with his brother as well as the Legend of Hunters in 2010 while also rapping in the group Stallionaires.

TMZ reports that real were diagnosed with stage 4 colon Cancer in 2013 that saw him undergo a series of surgeries notably in the brain. His condition seems to have worsened this year having already begun chemotherapy treatments. In an Instagram posting, his brother posted a tearful pic paying tribute to Real as his favorite guy with kind words that they will surely meet one day.

Givens is reported to have had problems with his vision as well as speech on Friday night just before passing away shortly, following three misdiagnoses. He had originally been diagnosed with Hepatitis A, after feeling sick at an event in 2013. Given had been bedridden for quite some time after a doctor in one of the hospital visits came in crying notifying him he had stage four of colon cancer.

Givens had originally been given a two week period to live as the cancer had spread extensively, affecting his liver, as well as his brain. The reality star had an operation that removed most of the cancerous growth in 2013 that had spread creating seven tumors. The tumors had spread to his brain partially paralyzing his right side.

The cancer man had become a family man in his final years having featured with his brother Kamal as bad boys riding motorcycles in a television series.
