Jillian Fink files for divorce with Patrick Dempsey after fifteen years of marriage

Jillian Fink, the wife of the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Patrick Dempsey, has filed for a divorce after fifteen years of marriage, the Daily News confirmed late Friday. Fink, a makeup artist herself, had married Dempsey in 1999 and together they have a 12 year old daughter and 7 year old twin boys. Fink has requested spousal and child support from Patrick Dempsey, according to a new report.

“It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple said in a statement obtained by The News. “Our primary concern remains the well being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”

Makeup artist Jillian Fink cited “irreconcilable differences”, TMZ.com reported.

Since the couple does not have a prenuptial agreement, Dempsey’s $40 million fortune could be up for grabs!

“It remains to be seen whether it will be amicable,” an unidentified source told the website. “She’s all about the kids.”

Back in 2011 when the things between the two were going good, Dempsey, best known for playing neurosurgeon Derek (McDreamy) Shepherd on the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” had appeared to be happy about his family life.

“Nothing else matters so much as long as you can come home and be with your family,” he had said in a 2011 interview with Good Housekeeping.

The best part of a marriage, according to Dempsey, was “feeling centered” while the worst was “not connecting.”

Dempsey, 49, said the key to a successful marriage was “accepting that you’re not going to change the other person,” adding that the words “Yes, dear, whatever you want,” help, too.

Now that the relationship has gone sour, Fink has requested spousal support from the 49 year old star besides asking the court to deny him any support from her, reports Radar online. She also “requested to keep her jewelry, as well as her earnings from and after the date of their separation.”

She also reportedly stated that “additional separate property assets” will be determined in the divorce proceedings. Not only that, she even wants Patrick to pay her attorneys feed.
