Louise McMorris, 8-month-old baby grins after seeing mom clearly for the first time

Louise McMorris was born with albinism – meaning she has no skin, hair, or eye pigmentation – and because she is suffering from debilitating sight problems due to this condition, she had been relying on hearing rather than sight to make sense of everything; but she grinned widely when she happened to see her mom, Megan McMorris, clearly with the aid of a prescription glasses.

A Denver infant, the magic moment was caught on video and it has garnered over 3 million views in two weeks since the video was posted online. Millions of people all over the world have expressed their joys and delight at little Louise grinning at seeing her mother clearly for the first time.

“Once she could actually see me, it’s like ‘Oh hi that’s you’,” said McMorris of the moment her daughter looked at her with glasses. “She’s happy. At least she didn’t start crying.”

With the aid of her newly acquired prescription glasses – specially designed for her – McMorris announced that Louise has been able to finally play with her older brother Mason because she can clearly see everything going on around her and also respond to them.

“She’s able to reach out for things because she can see them now,” McMorris told ABC News of Louise’s new ability. “If I walk into a room, I can tell she can see something.”

Louise no longer needs to rely on hearing sounds to respond to things. In fact, her mother took to singing when Louise depended on hearing than sight to bond with her baby.

“I can sing to her and I know she’s really listening,” said McMorris. “It’s our thing. It’s a special moment.”

But the story is now different because Louise clearly sees everybody now and could grin if she happens to like your face.
