Correspondent of the very well known show 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft, is now coming clean about the extra marital affair he had been hiding for three years. The lady whom he had an affair with is a lawyer from the New York City.
He has been recorded as saying that this affair that he had was a very serious lapse of judgement. He also went on to say that he has deeply hurt his wife, Jennet Conant, and his family because of this.
The National Enquirer was the first to come out with the story about this affair post which Kroft has been forced to apologise for his actions.
The newsman is reported to have first met Lisan Goines at a hotel in 2011 in New York. There was no stopping the couple after that. Sexy texting to hotel romps, the couple did it all.
Goines also happens to be married and her meetings with Kroft largely took place in New York and Washington.
Kroft and his journalist wife Conant are now trying to put all of this behind them and work on their marriage and keep it from falling apart as a result of this affair.
The spokesman of Kroft said that it was a private matter and there will be no statements made by him.
Kroft first joined CBS News in the year 1980 and he has remained the correspondent of “60 Minutes” ever since he was first instated back in 1989.
Kroft has a son with Jennet Conant, his wife of 23 years.
