‘Rang Rasiya’ movie review and box-office collections report

Bollywood movie “Rang Rasiya” starring Randeep Hooda in leading role is releasing all over India on November 7, 2014.

The movie was in the making for the longest time and is based on the life of famous 19th century painter Raja Ravi Varma. Hooda plays the artist, while Nandana Sen plays his muse and lover.

Actor Paresh Rawal will also be seen in a supporting role.

The movie has been directed by Ketan Mehta, who made the Aamir Khan starrer “Mangal Pandey: The Rising”.

“Rang Rasiya” is essentially aimed at the multiplex audiences and has a limited appeal to the classes.

The trailer of the film garnered quite some attention, much thanks to steamy scenes between the lead pair. One of the main highlights of the movie is the cinematography by ace director Anil Mehta.

Given the theme of the movie, the screen count of “Rang Rasiya” in India is limited to less than 1,000.

Hooda has been having a good time onscreen and is likely to pull crowd.

The promotions have only picked up in the last two weeks before release, which may have a dent on the collections.

Overall, the 1st day collections of “Rang Rasiya” should be anywhere between 1-3 crores, depending on how the movie picks up.

The reviews that have come in have been positive.

The movie will also have to compete with “The Shaukeens”, which happens to be the bigger release of the week, and “Happy New Year” that is in its third week.

Keep an eye here for more box office collections of “Rang Rasiya”. The first day occupancy was very poor compared to “The Shaukeens”.
