After two hours of counting, the news is that there is going to be a hung assembly in Maharashtra and the BJP has got a clear majority in Haryana and will form the government on its own.
When last reports came in, the BJP and allies were leading in around 120 seats while the Shivsena was leading in 63 seats.

The NCP and Congress were leading in 44 and 40 seats respectively.

While there have been ample talks on the 90-member Haryana Assembly results, the main battle lies in 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.

This year, both Haryana and Maharashtra, saw a record turnout. While Maharashtra recorded 63.13% voting, Haryana had highest at 76.54%.
Going by the Exit Polls, the BJP is expected to get the lion’s share in both states, but may fall short of majority.
On Sunday, counting in Maharashtra will start at 8 am across 269 locations in around 288 counting centers.
It would be around noon that the trends will be clear.
In Maharashtra, the battle is big because BJP and Shiv Sena parted ways and would be looking to form the government.
BJP has fielded a total of 280 candidates, while Shiv Sena has fielded 282 and Congress 287. and MNS had fielded 219 candidates, while BSP, CPI and NCP has fielded 260, 34 and 278 candidates each respectively, said a report on Zee News.
Off all the seats, 234 are for general, while 29 and 25 are reserved for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes respectively.
The same kind of positive vibes await the saffron party in Haryana, where the party aims to outwit the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress government.

Keeping the exit polls in mind, Shiv Sena hinted at alliance with BJP saying that there should not be any bitterness, said a report on Economic Times.
On the other hand, it remains to be seen as how the BJP fares in both states because it can be quite an acid test to PM Modi’s popularity since he resumed office in May.
