Maharashtra Exit Polls 2014: Modi led BJP to get majority

The Assembly poll battle between BJP and Shiv Sena just got bigger, with two opinion polls predicting big wins for the saffron party in the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra on October 9.

BJP may just make it to the final tally, with one poll predicting a clear majority, while the other says that BJP may just miss little short of the magic figure.

In recent times, there has been a lot of developments in the ultimate split of BJP and Shiv Sena in the state.

The first opinion poll has been conducted by Cicero for the India Today group, which has predicted that the BJP can win anywhere between 121 and 145 seats in the 288-seat assembly, said a report on Times of India.

The poll also predicted 57 seats for the Shiv Sena, while the NCP and Congress are expected to get 33 and 30 seats each.

This can be the biggest gain for BJP, which will be see more than double the growth in seat results in the state. Back in 2009, the team had just 46 seats to their credit.

The other opinion poll was conducted by Hansa Research for The Week and it predicted 154 seats for the saffron party. The poll predicted a total of 47 seats for the Sena, while the congress is predicted to have just 25 seats.

Both polls said that MNS could win anywhere between 10 and 12 seats, and others may get 25 seats.

Although opinion polls are known to go wrong, but if the scenario seems happening, BJP certainly will have no problem in forming the government in the state.
