‘Haider’ Review and Box-Office Collection Report

Widely awaited Bollywood movie “Haider” is releasing across screens in India and world on October 2, 2014.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Tabu, and Shraddha Kapoor in the leading roles, “Haider” is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”.

Helmed by director Vishal Bhardwaj, the story is set in Kashmir where Shahid sets on to find the mystery behind his father’s disappearance and his mother’s relation with his uncle.

Kay Kay Menon also plays a strong role in the movie, while Irrfan Khan plays a pivotal small role.

The screen count of “Haider” is close to 1,000 to 1,200 screens worldwide, which is good given the dark tone of the movie.

“Haider” is expected to fare better in the multiplexes than in the single screens, as the mood of the movie is meant for the classes.

The first day collections of “Haider” should be anywhere more than Rs. 6 crores, depending on the kind of publicity and word of mouth.

However, the movie has to fight it hard with another Bollywood flick “Bang Bang” starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles.

Although both movies are poles apart from one another, “Bang Bang” can dent the box office collections of “Haider” to some extent.

Strangely, both leading stars of the movie has wished the best to one another.

“Haider” is important for Shahid Kapoor who has been long waiting for a performance that can talk of his work. Also, the movie stars Tabu in a major role after a long time.
