Awaited Tamil film “Yaan” starring Jiiva in the leading role is set for a massive release worldwide on October 2, 2014.
Helmed by noted cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran, who has also written the script, “Yaan” belongs to the action thriller genre and has generated a decent buzz ahead of release.
The songs have been composed by Harris Jayaraj and most of them have found positive feedback from the audiences.
Reports in the media have suggested that the screen count of “Yaan” should be more than 350 across Tamil Nadu. While the producers gained 300 screens, more 60 screens are likely to be added, said a report on FilmiBeat.
For a Jiiva starrer, the release is quite large. The film also stars Thulasi Nair in the female lead, while actors like Nasser, Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran have other pivotal roles.
The movie marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran and has been produced by Elred Kumar and Jayaraman.

Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor have praised the director and “Yaan”, which has certainly added to the momentum.
The Regional Censor Board has passed the movie with a ‘U’ certificate, which will add up to the overall revenue for a tax exemption of close to 30%.
“Yaan” will have to compete with Ram Charan’s “Govindudu Andarivadele” down south, while Bollywood movies like “Bang Bang” and “Haider” are also releasing on the same day.
