The counting of votes for 3 Lok Sabha and 33 Assembly constituencies across 10 states for the bypolls held on September 13 starts tomorrow on September 16, 2014. Early experts believe the stakes are going to be high for BJP.
The 3 Lok Sabha seats are in Vadodara (Gujarat), Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and Medak (Telangana), and there are 11 Assembly constituencies are in Uttar Pradesh, while there are four in Rajasthan, nine in Gujarat and two in West Bengal.
The number of assembly constituencies in Northeast is 5, and there is one each in the states of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
Among all the seats, 24 are held by BJP and allies. The major game comes from UP where the BJP had won 80 seats, and it remains to be seen if the Modi wave can help in retaining the 10 seats. It’s ally Apna Dal had one seat.

BJP recently had a blow in the Assembly byelections last month in Bihar, where RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance managed to get six of the 10 seats.
The bypoll results are a good indicator of the performance of the Modi government that came to power in May, 2014.

As for the polls, around 53% votes were casted in Uttar Pradesh, which also includes the seat in Mainpuri vacated by the SP head Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, who is the grandson of Mulayam’s own brother, has been fielded for a huge win.
Assembly seats like Noida, Thakurdwara, Bijnor, Saharanpur Nagar, Nighasan, Balha, Sirathu, and Lucknow East are key indicators to 2017 Assembly polls, according to experts.
With 66 per cent voting, Rajasthan sees a close fight between the ruling BJP and Congress, where the former will try and keep the four seats.
