CLT20: Lahore Lions get Visa to Play in India

All eyes were on the Pakistan Cricket Board since long, seeking to know whether the Lahore Lions would be allowed to travel to India to play the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 matches.

The wait is now over, as the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the Lahore Lions have been issued visa and clearance to play the CTT20 matches in India.

According to a news report by Gocricket, the PCB has said that the Indian High Commission has issued visas to Lahore Lions to travel to India.

It has also been revealed that the tickets have also been issued. The Lahore Lions team, led by Mohammad Hafeez, is due to play their T20 games qualifiers in India.

If they prove to be successful and get into the main rounds, chances are that they would miss out the National T20 regional tourney scheduled to be played in Pakistan’s Multan between September 16 and 28.

The Lahore Lions team has current Pakistan players and they include the likes of Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Nasir Jamshed and Wahab Riaz.

That makes them a formidable side, capable of thwarting any attack.

On the bilateral relations front, the issuing of visa for Lahore Lions to travel to India may be seen as very positive in the current context. The move could also prompt PCB to go forward with talks with its Indian counterpart so that Pakistan players be allowed to participate in the Indian Premier League in the near future.

The move could also bring the smiles back to the Indo-Pak cricket ties. Let’s look forward to more ties on the cricket field where India and Pakistan players come together to play.
