The Karbonn Wadiyar Karnataka Premier League 2014 (KPL) took off in Mysore on August 28, 2014 with seven teams participating in the season.
There are seven teams participating in the KPL 2014 namely Belagavi Panthers, Bellary Tuskers, Mangalore United, Mysore Warriors, Bijapur Bulls, Rockstars and Hubli Tigers.
For the first match, Mangalore United took on Rockstars on August 28, 2014.
KPL has been organized by Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and has its finals scheduled for September 12.

Two matches will be played on Sept 5. Belagavi Panthers vs Bijapur Bulls at 1:10 pm. and
Bellary Tuskers vs Mangalore United at 5:00 p.m.

All the matches will be played in three cities- Mysore, Bangalore and Hubli. The finals are set for Hubli.
The squads will play one match against one another, and top four will be heading for semifinals. Team Rockstars includes some of film actors.
KPL was first organized in 2010, which was won by Mangalore United. The league is being conducted after a span of three years.
Currently, defending champions Mangalore United are leading in the points table, where they have won all the three matches played so far. Second in the run is Belagavi Panthers, who have two of three matches played so far.
On the other hand, Rockstars, who have played four matches in the league till now, have not won any of the matches.
The finals will be telecasted on Sony Six on September 12, 2014 in Hubli.
KPL is aimed at supporting and encouraging cricketing talent in Karnataka.
