A lot happened in the first session, but the second session had periodic rains, with close to 44 overs being washed away.

For the visiting Pakistan team, Kaushal Silva’s wicket was the only thing to cherish, while the Sri Lankans worked in full throttle in the morning session adding 75 runs all together in the 26 overs played. Between the lunch and the tea time, it was all about the two veterans, who made 78 in the limited time.

Abdur Rehman’s deliveries and mistakes are quickly taken by Sangakkara on his side, and the ones and twos kept coming. Ajmal seemed to be in control in the first session but lost some sheen soon.

Pakistan didn’t have much choice for the day when the conditions and pitch were not in their favor. Silva made the most of Ajmal for the entire time at the pitch. Sangakkara seemed to be at ease, tackling both Talha and Junaid with care.
