A so-far unidentified Londoner was left more than a little red-faced when he crashed the $350,000 Ferrari he’d only just taken out for a test drive…ouch!
THIS is why it’s not as easy as you’d like it to be to get a free test drive in a Ferrari!
We’d all love to hop behind the wheel of a supercar to take it for a free spin, but there’s a reason most sellers aren’t keen to hand over the keys to just anyone. And said reason was illustrated just wonderfully by one particular Brit, who took a Ferrari F458 on a test drive in London and managed to smash the living daylights out of the thing.
The wreckage was a painful sight to look at for any petrol-head with bits of telltale red bodywork all over the highway – pure carnage!
The identity of the driver remains unknown, though it has since come to light that he was apparently wearing a very expensive suit at the time of the crash…how very revealing. Those nearby at the time talked of the Ferrari bolting down the highway before spinning out of control and summarily hitting not only a passing VW, but also the central barriers.
Needless to say, it wasn’t quite worth the same $350,000 after this guy was finished with it.
“I was driving down the A12 on Saturday when I got stuck in traffic, I saw the police move a VW Bora onto the hardshoulder,” Michael Carpenter told the local press after photographing the wreckage.
“It was then I saw the Ferrari with damage to the front and rear corners,”
“When I drove past, the salesman from the dealership was on the phone and the driver was looking very sheepish.”
Mercifully there were no injuries caused by the collision and the responsible party apparently isn’t in too much trouble.
